FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BELLEVUE, Wash.-December 15, 2004 - Zango, the provider of exclusive free premium content online, today announced its partnership with Seattle-based game development firm, Zombie Studios and the release of Zango Games' online-only titles. The games, including tributes to classics such as Missile Command, Mahjong, and Asteroids are available for syndication to Web publishers, allowing them to generate revenue from the distribution of free games and provide exclusive entertainment to site visitors. The partnership with Zombie Studios compliments the current selection of Zango's downloadable games titles and the recent acquisition of Full Armor Studios by 180solutions.
Zombie, one of the first independent game development studios in the industry, led the digital re-design of 20 vintage games for online play that include a mix of arcade, board and card games. Zombie recently completed work on the Atari published title "Shadow Ops: Red Mercury Rising" for the Xbox and was honored at this year's Game Star Live show in London.
Zango creates an alternative revenue stream for Web publishers and helps to minimize the production and maintenance costs associated with hosting original content. A typical Zango partner has experienced as much as 30 percent in increased revenue and exposure to millions of users in the last 10 months.
"Zombie Studios is among the oldest and most successful independent game development studios in the industry, and their games are a natural hit with consumers," said Charles Balas, director of business development for Zango Games. "Web publishers looking to add games and boost profits can syndicate any of the Zango Games titles, including online-only and downloadable titles. Through the relationship with Zombie Studios and additional game developers, Zango will continue to propel the rebirth of the most beloved games, adding to our current selection of revenue-producing titles for Web publishers."
"Zango is revolutionizing the way games are distributed online, offering a money-making solution for game developers and Web publishers," said Mark Long, CEO of Zombie Studios. "By acting as a publisher for retired and aspiring games, and making them available for free, Zango is supporting the preservation of legacy titles and innovation of future gaming."
