PHILADELPHIA - June 14, 2024 - GameChops and arranger Rob Araujo is pleased to present Zelda & Jazz, a 12-track tribute to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Zelda & Jazz is the debut album by The Deku Trio, who elevate videogame music with forward-leaning arrangements featuring jazz piano, upright bass, and mellow percussion. Highlighting fan favorites like "Song of Storms," "Zelda’s Lullaby," and "Great Fairy Fountain," The Deku Trio's coffeehouse-style reimaginings feature cozy ornamented piano arrangements, interesting reharmonizations, soulful basslines, and delicate drums and percussion. The Deku Trio pays tribute to music composed by Koji Kondo, with artwork and character designs by award-winning comic author Riana Dorsey. Zelda & Jazz is out now on all online stores and streaming platforms!

"When I founded GameChops over a decade ago, the videogame cover scene was dominated by touring rock and jazz bands, and recordings were hard to come by," comments GameChops founder and artist Dj Cutman. "We started the label with a focus on dance music, but with today's debut of The Deku Trio, I hope to recreate the kind of experience you might have enjoyed in a small venue or nightclub in the early 2000s. With multiple follow-up releases planned, The Deku Trio aims to set a new standard for musicianship and performance in the world of videogame covers."
