Video game-focused representation agency Digital Development Management has announced a new division devoted to providing production services to its clients. Headed by Babel Media co-founder and William Rubin agency veteran Ben Wibberly, the new division will assist in tasks including game localization, quality assurance, platform certification, submission, and digital distribution. In the announcement, DDM president Joe Minton indicated the division is focused on game projects that aren't funded by traditional game publishers, and therefore may not have people used to dealing with these kinds of production tasks. “Our Game Production Services division not only brings the expertise and experience needed to fill these gaps, but also offers companies coming into the video game business a cost effective, low risk solution and entry strategy into the industry," Minton said. “I’m thrilled to join the DDM team to help both clients and the industry at-large readdress the way they look at video game production,” said Wibberley. “By using our internal expertise and resources within the DDM network we will be able to facilitate world-class production services for developers and publishers looking to maximize their presence in this space.” This newest division comes on top of a Game Industry Services branch of DDM focused on publishers and investors, and another branch focused on social games, both announced last summer. The company has also recently made efforts to reach across the Pacific with a just-announced Japan-focused branch headed by former Capcom producer Ben Judd.
