Cortex Project
The Cortex game development system is now super easier than ever! I have created a Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual Studio Express project template. Now you can start MS VS, click "File -> New Project" then select the XNA framework you want to use, and poof! There is the template. When you select the template the entire game engine, library references and all that are set up along with a starter game. The starter game will be a windowed of 800 x 600 32-bit. It comes with the first starter level all stubbed out with a full length sound track, XACT audio project and everything you need to start working with game content right off the bat. So literally, in about 5 minutes or less you will have a working game with sound fx, looping sound track, and first level running. From there all the coding that will be needed can be done in the AI module of the development system. So you only have to deal with one source file if you want. Also due to the nature of Cortex, that file can be written in your language of choice C#, C++, and probably even VB if you wanted (though I haven't tried). So there you have it. A shake and bake game in 5 min. (Cortex 3 for XNA 4.0 is in the works right now and will be out shortly) You can read more and follow me and Neuron Games, Inc. here:
