Summary: Crystal Dynamics is looking for a programmer to work in the Shared Technology group as the Lead Renderer and direct work on associated build systems. This position involves a direct working relationship with other programmers on the rendering team, and programmers and artists on game teams. The successful Graphics Engineer should be both creative and practical with an ambition to advance next generation rendering for future games. Essential Duties: De-construct a task into its fundamental elements and estimate each accurately Provide technical guidance to content creators for new features Deal with console and video card vendors Identify bottlenecks quickly, be performance driven Add new functionality to an existing rendering engine Implement custom shaders for in-game effects (particles, post processing, lighting, etc.) Support artists, designers, and programmers when rendering components break down Write clean, comprehensible, high-performance cross-platform code Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to complex problems Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: A strong passion for gaming and making great game experiences Ability to assist other programmers on defining robust and efficient solutions to systems and tasks Ability to multi-task various things at the same time Good eye for pixel accuracy Be familiar with current high end rendering techniques Very good understanding of the DirectX rendering pipeline Solid vector and matrix math Excellent communication skills (be able to effectively communicate with team members who may not have excellent communication skills) Strong knowledge of C++ and HLSL Strong time management skills Good problem solver. Thinking outside the box highly encouraged. Be able to collaborate with others (and various disciplines) Essential Requirements: 6+ years of industry experience in rendering Experience with DirectX11, Xbox 360/One, PS3/4 At least one shipped high quality title Interested?
