Logo exploration

Exploring fonts for the logo of my new company Rocket jump.

So I've started exploring some logo possibilities. Well... I've more like started finding a typeface or at least something close to what I want and also looked at some colour schemes but failed at that. I'll tell you one thing I've learned through all this. Finding a font you like and one that fits the image in your mind is one hard task!

I figured I'd save explaining the process as I'm not a graphic designer by trade and I'll probably explain it wrong. You can kind of see from the progress I've made that I'll probably do better getting an actual artist to do this job. It'll save me time, and with my savings being the only money I have for the rest of the foreseeable future, time means money more than it ever has before!

So anyway here's some exploration. Some typefaces with variation on capitalisation:

I'm currently thinking of going with something like number 3 or number 12 from this next sheet.

Next I played with some random colour pallets but stopped half way through wondering if this was really worth my time and went onto other things. Anyway I'm happy I've made a little bit of progress but I'm not happy to continue doing this myself unless I really have no other options. The downside is I really need a logo as soon as possible! Then I can start work on my website branding, business cards and e-mail signatures! But again this is probably not the best use of my time. I should be focusing more on the technical issues I still need to sort out such as version control systems and project management solutions.   -___-   fml.

Note to self: Don't try and do EVERYTHING!

Feedback and suggestions welcome. Or just draw one and send me a logo to use, it's free!
