Video game, movie, and comic artist Francis Tsai has passed away, as confirmed by his wife, Linda. Tsai, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2010, created art for games such as Myst III and the Tomb Raider franchise, as well as comic books, card and board games, and Hollywood movies.

You can find examples of Tsai's art at his website -- including art he drew entirely using eye-tracking hardware and software after complications from his ALS caused paralysis, a process he talks about in this profile.

Tsai also wrote instructional books on the creation of art.

"I would have to say that working with a team of very talented artists who are creating these worlds based on my designs is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had," Tsai said about the development of Myst III, in a 2000 interview.
