Hi, I am Guney Ozsan, mostly a composer, sometimes a multimedia producer. I say so because things can easily get mixed when you work for video games. They are pieces of hardcore multimedia interactive art.

In my first blog post, I would like to talk about our game in progress, Melodefense, whose genre is also quite mixed. Melodefense is a musical tower defense game based on a step-sequencer. Or, from another point of view Melodefense is a music toy where you create music by playing a tower defense game.

The idea for the game came out at Global Game Jam 2013 with the theme "Heartbeat". Basically, placing towers kicks loops, enemies destroying towers silence loops. An interactive music is produced when different loops mix with each other.

I suggest watching this little presentation that we introduce and demonstrate Melodefense to the GGJ Istanbul BUG site.

We are keeping a development blog for Melodefense here. We are quite in the beginning of the process and we want to share every step of our development. We also post to other places around, please follow us and share your comments and ideas wherever is convenient for you Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Tumblr and RSS.
