Mike McShaffry (Austin, TX) began his gaming career at Origin Systems in 1990. In his seven years there, Mike was a programmer, lead programmer, director and producer for titles such as Martian Dreams, Ultima VII, Ultima VIII, Ultima IX, and Ultima Online. He consulted on many other popular Origin and Electronic Arts games. Since then, Mike has worked on a wide variety of games, including Mattel's Magnadoodle and Microsoft's Bicycle Casino 2001. Mike co-founded Compulsive Development in January 2000, which employed 20 developers and completed four casual games for Microsoft. In August 2002, Glass Eye Entertainment acquired Compulsive. In 2002 and 2003, Mike worked on the popular Thief series of games. He is currently the Head of Studio for Breakaway Games’ Austin (TX) studio. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Houston and is privileged to have worked with and learned from the finest creative minds in the entertainment software industry.
