The studio behind Nintendo's Electroplankton is handling the development duties for Square Enix's upcoming Final Fantasy rhythm game, the company has revealed. Tokyo-based Indies Zero is the independent studio behind Theatrythm Final Fantasy. In addition to Electroplankton, the studio also worked on Retro Game Challenge and Personal Trainer: Cooking. Theatrythm Final Fantasy was briefly revealed last week in Japanese magazine Shōnen Jump. According to new details published by Square Enix on Monday (as translated by Andriasang), the game will feature characters, settings and music from each of the main Final Fantasy games, from the original through 2009's Final Fantasy XIII. It is one of a handful of games that Square Enix has in development for Nintendo's 3DS. Also announced are a sequel to its portable Rocket Slime series, a new Kingdom Hearts game, and an original StreetPass-focused title called Heroes of Ruin.
