Newsbrief: Developer and publisher Riot Games will bring its free-to-play online RTS game League of Legends to Russian-speaking territories with a localized version, dedicated servers, and support. Since launching in North America October 2009, the MOBA/DotA-style (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena/Defense of the Ancients), client-based PC game has received over 30 million downloads. It also hosts more than 11.5 million active players worldwide. In Europe, the game is currently available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Polish. League of Legends is also distributed in Asia by Chinese firm Tencent Holdings, which acquired a majority stake in Los Angeles-based Riot Games last year. The publisher recently launched a Korean server for League of Legends to much fanfare. More than 300,000 users registered for the game on its launch day, and over 10,000 of them played the title concurrently that day.
