Grand Knights History Takes Top Of Japanese Charts

Marvelous' latest RPG Grand Knights History took the top spot in the Japanese weekly software sales charts, in a week during which new titles were more scarce than usual. For the week ended September 4, data from tracking firm Media Create, and as reported by NeoGAF, shows that the Marvelous title sold a total of 64,630 copies -- just a fraction compared to the 287,829 copies that Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD Ver. sold last week. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Monster Hunter slipped down to number two with 52,792 sales, while Nintendo's Rhythm Heaven continued to hang out the top ten, sitting at number three with 22,762 units sold. As for other new releases, Atlus' Devil Survivor: Over Clock for Nintendo 3DS launched at number five in the charts, and 5pb's Corpse Party: Book of Shadows entered at number seven. Further down the charts, the dubbed version of Call of Duty: Black Ops jumped in at number 15, while another Monster Hunter title, Monster Hunter Frontier Online: 2011 Anniversary Premium Package for Xbox 360, found a spot at number 16, signalling the first time an Xbox 360 title has entered the top 20 in several weeks. Despite the fact that the Nintendo 3DS continues to sell strongly in Japan, only three 3DS titles sat in the top 20 -- the new Devil Survivor: Over Clock, Pokemon Rumble Blast and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.
