Newsbrief: Halo 5 has already brought in over $500,000 in microtransactions, according to a blog post by developer 343.

Earlier this year the Halo developer promised to add a portion of any income made as a result of REQ Pack sales to the Halo World Championship prize pool. Now, just nine days after the game's release, the team has added $500,000 to the kitty, bringing the total prize pool to $1.5 million.

Players can buy silver, gold, and premium REQ Packs, which unlock weapons, armor, and vehicles for use in Halo 5's new Warzone multiplayer mode, for $1.99, $2.99, and $24.99 respectively.

Alternatively, REQ packs can also be bought using REQ points, which are earned in-game.
