Ubisoft revealed today that its latest dance release, Just Dance 3, sold more than 700,000 copies in the U.S. during Thanksgiving week. From November 20-26, the game set new records for the franchise, selling that amount during the Black Friday sales on both Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360's motion-sensing Kinect. The company also noted that the Wii version of the game has now sold around 48 percent more than the number of sales Just Dance 2 Wii managed year-over-year in the U.S. Analyst group Cowen and Company suggested earlier this week that Just Dance 3 was the top-selling game during Amazon's Black Friday sales. Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft, said, "Last week was an excellent start to the holiday shopping season for Ubisoft's dance games." "The popularity of Ubisoft's dance games continues to gain momentum as these games appeal to a wide variety of consumers because they are fun to play alone or with friends and family."
