The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced the nominees for its 2011 Children's Awards, including a number of video game categories. The awards celebrate the best of British television, film and video game entertainment aimed at children. Among those nominated includes Mind Candy's Moshi Monsters, up for the 'Interactive' award, and Size Five Games' Privates, nominated for the 'Learning - Secondary' category. There is also a dedicated 'Video Game' category, under which nominees consist of Nintendo's Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Warner's Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet 2 and Nintendo's Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. As part of the main awards, there are also a set of special Kids' Vote nominees, which can be voted for by the public. The following video games make up the Games category: Angry Birds Rio Cut the Rope FIFA 11 Just Dance 2 Kinect Sports Michael Jackson: The Experience Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Professor Layton and the Lost Future The Sims 3 Wii Party The awards ceremony will be held on November 27, 2011, at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
