Mario Kart 7 topped the Japanese weekly software sales charts last week, with over 109,000 sales bringing the game's total Japanese sales to over 1.1 million, according to data from tracking firm Media Create, and as translated by NeoGAF. For the week ended January 1, 2012, and in a week of no new releases in the top 20, Capcom's Monster Hunter 3G for Nintendo 3DS came in a close second with 100,000 sales, while the previous week's number two Warriors Orochi 2 dropped to number three with 73,000 sales. Other big hitters, such as Super Mario 3D Land and Final Fantasy XIII-2, hung around the top of the charts as per usual. Nintendo had seven titles in the top 20, while Bandai Namco had four and Konami had three. A couple of titles, The Idolmaster 2 and World Soccer Winning Eleven 2012, re-entered the top 20 charts having dropped out of the top 50 in previous weeks. Level 5's Inazuma Eleven franchise had a good week, with Inazuma Eleven Go: Shine/Dark for Nintendo 3DS at number six, and Inazuma Eleven Strikers 2012 Xtreme for Wii at number 15. The complete top 20 chart, as supplied by Media Create, is shown below.
