According to The Wall Street Journal's Tokyo tech reporter, Takashi Mochizuki, Pokémon developer Game Freak has purchased Japan-based smartphone developer Koa Games.

Newsbrief: According to The Wall Street Journal's Tokyo tech reporter, Takashi Mochizuki, Pokémon developer Game Freak has purchased Japan-based smartphone developer Koa Games for an undisclosed fee. 

Details on the acquisition are scarce, although Dr. Serkan Toto, a Japanese games industry expert, has explained that the takeover is likely an "acquihire" as Koa is a small studio that was leaking cash.
