In what may be an industry first, Portal 2 shipped today with an interactive advertising tie-in for the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed film Super 8. The "Interactive Teaser" is accessible from the game's "Extras" menu, and appears to be built by Valve itself using its Source Engine. Interactivity is limited only to exploring a small environment and examining props, though the scripted events that occur throughout the experience are polished and professional. The interactive teaser is based on Super 8's original teaser trailer, with the "player" able to explore what is more or less the same environment, though with a few added surprises. A number of playthrough videos are making the rounds on the internet, including here.
