Tales of Xillia Storms Japanese Software Charts

Namco Bandai's Tales of Xillia topped the Japanese weekly software sales charts this week, outselling the entirety of the remainer of the top 20 combined. As revealed last week, Tales of Xillia sold over 500,000 copies in its first day on sale, no doubt aiding the PS3 hardware sales surge in the same week. For the week ended September 11, data from tracking firm Media Create, and as reported by NeoGAF, shows that Capcom's new release Resident Evil: Revival Selection also sold very well, with over 100,000 units sold over both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Other new releases this week included Resistance 3, which entered the charts at number three, Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross at number six, and Hot Shots Golf 5 on PS3 at number eight. Capcom's best-selling Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD Ver. remained high in the charts at number four, while last week's number one Grand Knights History dropped down to number five this week. Nintendo dominated the middle of the top 20, with big sellers such as Rhythm Heaven, Kirby Mass Attack, Wii Sports Resort and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D hanging around as usual. Despite sales of the Nintendo 3DS still being relatively high each week since the August 12 price drop, the software charts only saw two 3DS titles -- the aforementioned Ocarina of Time 3D, and Pokemon Rumble Blast at number 14.
