Outfit7, the company behind the Talking Friends mobile game series, has revealed that the franchise has seen over 225 million downloads in total across all its games. The Talking Friends series is aimed at children and features animals that can repeat phrases outloud, while also 'listening' to a user talk. Talking to business website Venturebeat, Outfit7 executive chairman Narry Singh explained that the series has now seen a total of 225 million downloads since its launch in July 2010. The company had previously reported 100 million downloads in total just over five months ago, meaning that Talking Friends has seen over 125 million downloads in that time. Singh explained that the company is now looking to expand beyond the mobile titles, and include the characters from the games in books, television, movies and more. "These numbers are getting us into a very different stage and kind of company," he explained. "Our users' lives are obviously not just on the smartphone."
