Tropico 5 from Haemimont Games has been banned in Thailand, as the military junta government in Thailand believes that the game's storyline "might affect peace and order in the country." Thailand has been under a military dictatorship for the last couple of months, since the civilian government was overthrown in a coup. Now the Associated Press reports that, according to video game distributor New Era Thailand, sales of Tropico 5 are being blocked in the country. In Tropico 5, you play a president who is able to rule over his country with an iron fist, controlling the media and generally making your own rules. "In the fifth installment, the storyline has developed further and there might be some part of it that's not appropriate in the current situation [in Thailand]," the distributor's marketing manager Nonglak Sahavattanapong explained.
