If you launched a game last year you should know that the folks behind South by Southwest's games initiative have announced the nominees for their 2016 SXSW Gaming Awards, encompassing everything from Bloodborne to Undertale and Emily Is Away.

This will be the third year that SXSW Gaming Awards will be distributed, and the awards are varied (and numerous enough) to potentially honor a broad swath of game developers.

Of particular note is the organization's Matthew Crump Cultural Innovation Award, which is given every year to celebrate the memory of the eponymous game designer who helped run the SWSW Gaming Expo before his untimely passing in 2014.

The Matthew Crump award is meant to honor games that challenge the "norm" with culturally innovative viewpoints, and this year the nominees include Emily is Away, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Her Story, Life is Strange and Undertale.

Undertale also gets a nod on the organization's Game of the Year nominees list, which is otherwise occupied by Bloodborne, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Kojima Productions' Konami swan song Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The winners will be announced during a ceremony on Saturday, March 19th, during the annual SXSW festival. You can find a full list of the nominees over on the SXSW Gaming Awards website.
