We already knew that Watch Dogs had done the business for Ubisoft over its launch week, but now we have some perspective for those sales -- including the fact that Watch Dogs is now the best-selling new IP ever in the UK. L.A. Noire originally held the record for best ever first week sales in the UK for a new IP, but Watch Dogs destroyed that record last week according to Chart-Track, with first week retail sales (no digital sales are included) that were 58 percent higher than L.A. Noire's first week. Unsurprisingly, Watch Dogs was the best-seller in the UK last week across all formats -- and it was the 17th best ever launch week of any game at retail in the UK, regardless of whether it was new IP or not. And it's Ubisoft's best ever launch in the UK too -- previously Assassin's Creed III provided the company's best ever first week sales in the UK, but Watch Dogs outsold it by 17 percent.
