Nintendo on Wednesday confirmed that Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii will arrive in North America on November 20. That means that the anticipated title will make it in time for the holiday shopping rush, which typically begins on "Black Friday" in the U.S., or the day after Thanksgiving, which this year lands on November 25. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the first new Zelda Wii game since 2006's Twilight Princess, which also released on GameCube. The announcement of the release date for the title comes as Nintendo marks the 25th anniversary of the series, which kicked off in 1986. Skyward Sword's gameplay appropriately places heavy emphasis on swordplay, and implements more accurate Wii MotionPlus controls. Nintendo said the game lays the groundwork for the much-loved The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
