Budapest-based Zen Studios announced today that it is bringing its Zen Pinball series to the Nintendo 3DS, marking the first time the franchise has hit a handheld console. Zen Pinball 3D will feature four tables from the original PlayStation 3 release, ranging from the Earth Defense invasion table to the adventure-styled Eldorado table. The game will feature local hot-seat multiplayer, online leaderboards for each table, and special missions and rewards to complete. There will also be special Pro Score and Team Score ranking tables to top. Zen Studios is also the developer behind the highly successful downloadable series Pinball FX. Mel Kirk, VP of marketing at Zen Studios, said of the 3DS announcement, "Releasing Zen Pinball on a Nintendo platform marks an amazing milestone for Zen Studios." "We are really excited for Nintendo fans to experience one of our greatest passions - the timeless game of pinball! Playing pinball in 3D is killer." The game will be released later this year as a downloadable title available from the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
