Sony has revealed the PSP Remaster series, which will see the publisher bring enhanced versions of popular PSP titles to the PlayStation 3. Titles given this treatment will receive improved, high-definition visuals upscaled for use on a home television, while some will see new content and support for stereoscopic 3D. The remastered versions will read the same save data as the PSP originals, allowing users to continue their gaming whenever they're out and about. Ad-hoc mode will also be supported through the appropriate application on the PS3. This new series is being launched in Japan, with Capcom's Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. hitting the store first. Further expansion into the U.S. and European territories is planned. The original PSP hardware has been far outselling the Nintendo 3DS in Japanese, with the 3DS seeing its worst Japanese sales period on record last week. Capcom also revealed last week that its best-selling fantasy action RPG series Monster Hunter will be making the leap to the iPhone in Japan this June with spin-off title Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting.
