Gameloft has posted financial results for the third quarter of the current fiscal year, noting a rise in revenue due in part to its success in the smartphone and tablet markets. The company explained that the growth in sales of its smartphone and tablet games has helped drive revenue in emerging countries. Smartphone and tablet sales grew up 60 percent year-over-year, and now account for 34 percent of the company's total sales. In particular, the report picked out releases such as Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, The Adventures of Tintin and Brothers In Arms 2: Global Front Free+, noting that each of these titles enjoyed "significant success." Alongside its success with mobile titles, Gameloft believes that it will sustain its current growth going forward, thanks to new gaming platforms such as smart TVs and upcoming set-top boxes. For the quarter ended September 30, the company posted revenue of 40.6 million euros ($55.7 million), up 17 percent compared to 34.7 million euros ($47.6 million) year-over-year. Profit figures have not yet been divulged. Sales in Europe made up 29 percent of total sales, while 28 percent came from North America sales. The rest of the world made up the remaining 43 percent.
