Sales of the Nintendo 3DS in Japan surpassed 300,000 during October, while software sales for the console were less than half of that. According to data from Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, and as translated by Andriasang, the Nintendo console sold a total of 304,000 units during last month, securing its place as the best-selling console platform for the fifth month running. However, in terms of software, only 122,000 game units were sold during the month, meaning that, at most, only 40 percent of those who purchased the system also bought a new game, as opposed to pre-owned titles. Factoring in software sales from previous 3DS owners and those who purchased more than one new 3DS game with their console, this ratio may be lower. Software sales for the PSP dominated the October charts, with 1,298,000 units sold in total. Final Fantasy Type-0 accounted for nearly half of these sales, with 503,000 units sold. AKB1/48 If I Loved an Idol in Guam sold 318,000 units.
