The Nintendo 3DS once again took the top spot in the Japanese dedicated video game hardware sales charts this week, selling 300 more units than Sony's PSP. For the week ended July 3, data from tracking firm Media Create, translated by Andriasang, showed that the Nintendo 3DS sold 30,233 units, while the PSP managed 29,871, giving up its number one position from last week. The PlayStation 3 saw a huge increase in hardware sales, up nearly 10,000 in sales over last week to 26,441. The Nintendo Wii also saw an increase in sales, up to 12,423 units sold this week. Only two consoles declined in sales this week -- the PlayStation 2 and the PSP Go. As a result of Sony's stopping production on the device, the PSP Go managed just seven total hardware sales this week. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended July 3, 2011. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
