Amazon's digital games service finally comes to the UK

Four years after Amazon launched a PC and Mac game downloads service via its online store in the U.S., the company has finally launched a similar service in the UK.

Newsbrief: Four years after Amazon launched a PC and Mac game downloads service via its online store in the U.S., the company has finally launched a similar service in the UK. The digital games initiative, which is currently in open beta, allows users to both purchase and download games through the Amazon store, while also providing means for preordering upcoming games. There are currently more than 600 software and video game titles available through this service. Amazon has also launched a free-to-play games section, offering popular titles like Stronghold Kingdoms and Second Life.
