Following John Carmack's move into full-time work at Oculus VR, another id Software executive has also joined the team behind the virtual reality headset. Matt Hooper, previously creative director at id Software, including on the recently released first-person shooter Rage, left the company earlier this year. He had also previously taken up roles as design lead and design director at id. In a statement to Gamefront, the Oculus team has now confirmed that Hooper has joined as director of development, and will be working out of the company's Dallas offices. The company added that it is still on the prowl for more notable industry figures to add to its roster. The Oculus Rift hardware is still in the making, although it's currently possible to pre-order a development kit.
