Playable ads are the next big thing for mobile game advertising, if the latest tech coming out of companies like Agawi and AppSponsor is to be believed. App streaming company Agawi revealed its own playable ads tech back in January, and now San Francisco-based studio AppSponsor has launched its own SDK for playable ads. The company says that, rather than being force-fed an advert, users are able to demo other gaming experiences from within a game, with the possibility of rewards being provided as a result. AppSponsor says these demo ads result in less complaints about ads, and boosted revenue per user. It's essentially a "try-before-you-buy" demo model, whereby players can choose to visit the App Store directly after playing a demo to buy the game if they enjoyed the 30 second burst they were provided with. Those developers interested in integrating playable ads into their mobile games can pick up the SDK from the AppSponsor website.
