The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has launched a new initiative that aims to inspire students and those starting a career in the film, television and video games industries. BAFTA Guru offers content specifically designed to inspire an 18-30 year old audience, with editorials and blogs from "some of the best minds" in each industry. There will also be interviews, lectures and debates added frequently to the Guru database for users to take advantage of. Visitors can comment on content, and upload their own profiles and work for discussion. The idea of the website is to allow students and upcoming talent to interact directly with Academy members, award winners and nominees at BAFTA. Tim Hunter, head of Learning and Events, explained, "BAFTA Guru is an exciting new development for the Academy." "It takes our Learning and Events programme to a wider audience and will allow the amazing roster of industry experts who we meet through our membership and Awards to support the next generation of practitioners." As part of the launch, a video from industry veteran Will Wright has been uploaded, in which he addresses the issue of gaming addiction. There is also a dedicated page for video games, showing all the videos, audio and articles that are available to users.
