Nintendo is set to show off downloadable content for the Nintendo 3DS via SpotPass locations in Best Buy stores starting next month, the companies said Tuesday. From June 7 -- notably the day after the launch date of the 3DS eShop -- a variety of DLC for the 3DS will be available to download from around 1,000 Best Buy stores. The service will include exclusive offers for Best Buy customers, along with stereoscopic 3D movie trailers and additional entertainment content that has yet to be fully disclosed. Best Buy's vice president of entertainment Chris Homeister noted that the company was able to provide special wi-fi content in-store "as a retail partner for SpotPass." Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said in a statement, "Best Buy provides a firsthand look at the platform with experts to help people understand everything it offers." Best Buy revealed last month that it plans to add sales clerks and in-store sales desks to its stores exclusively for the video game department this year, in an effort to better compete with specialty retailers like GameStop.
