The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
The funding program will support UK companies looking to create, among other projects, interactive narrative video games.
The British Film Institute (BFI) and UK Global Screen Fund (UKGSF) have opened applications for the International Business Development strand, a new funding program that will support UK companies looking to create, among other projects, interactive narrative video games.
The strand aims to support the development of UK screen content businesses that are focused on "revenue generation through export and international expansion." That means it's open to companies with a track record of creating, acquiring, or leveraging properties to create feature movies, television and streaming shows, and interactive narrative games.
Eligible companies can apply for funding using one of two tracks: A film transformation track that will grant funds to internationally-focused projects related to independent UK film, and a general track that covers all eligible screen sectors.
Applicants can apply for funding in the range of £50,000 ($60,000) to £200,000 ($240,000) over a three-year period, with support taking the form of non-repayable grants -- applicable to both the film transformation track and the general track.
The BFI explained it wants to enable eligible companies to achieve measurable results by helping them develop a strong presence in the international marketplace and create quality UK projects aimed at global audiences.
With the assistance of the UKGSF, it also wants to support the creation of new International business partnerships and facilitate the development of new international revenue streams while increasing private sector investment.
The application period for the International Business Development strand is open now and will close on October 13, 2022. Those interested in learning more, including how to apply, should head on down to the BFI website.
