Capcom announced today a partnership with Japanese social gaming network DeNA that will see a brand new Monster Hunter mobile social game released via DeNA's Mobage platform in Japan. The Monster Hunter series, which is incredibly popular in Japan, has shipped over 17 million units worldwide since premiering on the PS2 in 2004. Titled Minna to Monhan Card Master, translated into English as Monster Hunter With Everyone: Card Master, this new game will be a card battle spin-off based on characters from the main franchise, reports Andriasang. Players will be able to form guilds and gather character and monster cards together, then battle other guilds online. The game will use an item transaction system in-game via Mobage functionality. A February 21 release date has been set, when the game will be made available for both feature phones and smartphones. Japanese gamers can already pre-register for the game, starting from today. This is the second social game to be based on the popular Monster Hunter series. Late last year, Capcom revealed Monster Hunter Exploration Journal: Phantom Island, another social game spin-off on the Gree mobile platform.
