Upcoming downloadable content for this week's release of PC RPG The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be offered for free, according to Polish developer CD Projekt Red. "Let me announce that all our DLCs will be FREE," the developer wrote during a Q&A hosted on GameStop's Facebook page. "All of them. If anything will be for purchase, those will be expansion packs." The first bit of free DLC, entitled Troll Trouble, will be available when the game launches on Tuesday, the developer said. Free downloadable bonus items had already been available along with pre-orders from various retailers, including a Mysterious Merchant Pack from GameStop and an Ultimate Swordsman Suit from Amazon.com. Those pre-order bonuses will remain exclusive to those retail purchasers for now, the developer said. The $49.99 "Premium Edition" of The Witcher 2 also comes with a making-of DVD, soundtrack CD, fold-out world map, strategy guide, and collectible coin. A $129.99 Collector's Edition adds an artbook, sculpture, dice, playing cards, stickers, and an exclusive Commando Jacket DLC to the package. The first Witcher sold over a million copies in the year after its October 2007 release.
