Development studio Cliffhanger Productions has revealed Shadowrun Online, an upcoming browser-based title based on the Shadowrun series. The studio is working with past Shadowrun writers and artists to make sure that the adaptation to an online game doesn't stray too far from the original world. The game will be split into two parts, with players first completing missions together via the action map. These involve hacking, magic and gunfights. The other half of the game sees players viewing the map as a city overview, while using contacts and resources to unlock more information regarding specific missions. Players will be able to spend action points to force short narrated outcomes that will push the story forwards. The studio said in a statement that the game's development is still at a "very early stage" as it is currently also working on Jagged Alliance Online.
