Long-time game industry executive Rod Cousens has quit his post as CEO of Codemasters after a decade with the company to take on the same role at Runescape developer (and fellow UK-based company) Jagex.
This is notable in light of Codemasters' recent troubles; the nearly thirty-year-old company was hit with layoffs early this year and has yet to release a game for contemporary consoles.
Codemasters COO Frank Sagnier is expected to step up and take the reins of the company in the wake of Cousens' departure.
Cousens' new home has its own troubles; former Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard announced he was stepping down at the end of last year, and shortly thereafter the studio was forced to shutter its short-lived Transformers MOBA.
