Crytek Reveals Kinect-Enabled Action Title Ryse

At Microsoft’s E3 press conference today, Crytek showcased its Kinect-enabled action title Ryse, which sees players hacking and slashing their way through battles set in ancient Rome.

At Microsoft’s E3 press conference today, Crytek announced the Xbox 360 exclusive Ryse, a Kinect-enabled action title based the Roman Empire. The game’s debut trailer emphasizes first-person melee combat, and depicts players slashing, head-butting, and kicking virtual opponents via the Xbox Kinect. Ryse will be published by Microsoft Studios, and more information regarding its release date has yet to be announced. At the 2010 Microsoft Press Conference, Crytek showcased a short teaser trailer for the game, which was known at the time as Codename: Kingdoms. Ryse began development at Crytek's studio in Budapest, but the company moved its development over to Frankfurt, Germany two months ago when the it laid off a number of workers the Budapest studio.
