Google's SVP Andy Rubin has revealed that over 700,000 new Android devices are now activated every single day. In a post on the Google+ social network, Rubin further explained of the figure, "we count each device only once (i.e., we don't count re-sold devices), and 'activations' means you go into a store, buy a device, put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service." Google had previously said in July that 550,000 Android devices were being activated every day, meaning that the figure has increased by 30,000 units each month on average during the second half of 2011. During the first half of the year, the daily number of Android activations increased from 300,000 to 500,000 -- a monthly average increase of around 33,000, suggesting the monthly increase is holding steady. Despite the strong sales figures for Android devices, a new report this week found that the top 200 games on the iPhone App Store generate roughly four times more revenue than those on the Android Market, while the App Store for iPad pulls in more than double the revenues seen on Android.
