Mobile social gaming company DeNA today announced a partnership with Vietnamese online game publisher VNG Corporation, that will see VNG's future social titles delivered through the mobile social gaming network Mobage worldwide. As part of the agreement, VNG will develop social games to be distributed exclusively through Mobage, with the plan to release at least three games for smartphones in 2012. DeNA will also provide support to VNG, and has already worked with the company to release a Japanese version of its game Pig Farm on the web browser version of Mobage. The companies noted that Pig Farm is now the first Vietnamese social game to be translated and launched in Japan. VNG also plans to release a Japanese version of its game Sky Garden via the PC portal. Tetsuya Mori, managing director at DeNA Asia, explained, "Vietnam has a surprisingly strong Internet startup and game developer community." "DeNA believes Vietnam will produce world-class developers and VNG is undoubtedly the strongest candidate. We are excited to develop a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship with VNG." VNG's founder Le Hong Minh added, "Our partnership with DeNA marks an important milestone for VNG as well as the whole developer community in Vietnam." This agreement with VNG marks DeNA's continued push for the Vietnamese market, as it recently acquired the Vietnam branch of smartphone developer Punch Entertainment.
