The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
UK-based games industry mag Develop is being absorbed into the MCV brand as part of publisher NewBay Media's one-size-fits-all optimization effort.
UK-based games industry publication, Develop, is being absorbed into the MCV brand as part of publisher NewBay Media's one-size-fits-all optimization effort.
Develop, which actually broke the news, will be brought under the MCV banner in January 2018, marking the end of an era for the physical magazine and website.
Another one of NewBay's industry-focused websites, Esports Pro, will also be combined with MCV as part of the upcoming reshuffle.
"From January 2018, MCV, Develop and Esports pro will exist as one entity, under the banner of MCV, with one bigger monthly magazine, one mobile optimized, new look website including new jobs platform, and a suite of events tailored for the industry," explained NewBay.
"This structure will better reflect the changing nature of the games industry, while continuing to highlight the latest trends across publishing, development, eSports, and everything in between."
NewBay says events such as The Develop Awards, MCV Awards, Future Games Summit, and Women in Games will "continue to serve the industry," but it's likely some branding changes will be made in certain instances.
"We are committed to promoting this industry as one of the most interesting and vibrant creative businesses out there," continued the publisher, "and we are excited and confident that these changes will create new opportunities and enable us to provide the best possible service to our clients and readers."
