Analyst group Cowen and Company has posted a new report that estimates the top selling U.S. video games during Amazon's Black Friday sales, while also suggesting that these titles will be the highest-selling games of the holiday season. Cowen's Doug Creutz said that data collected during the Black Friday sales and the following two days shows that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and Madden NFL 12 will be amongst the top selling games of December -- the month during which around 25 percent of annual video game software sales are recorded. During the past three days, Ubisoft's Just Dance 3 was the top-selling game, according to Cowen and Company's estimates, while Kinect Sports Season 2 and Dance Central 2 followed in second and third place. Overall, Ubisoft had three titles in the top 20, while Microsoft had four and Electronic Arts had five, including both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Battlefield 3. Nintendo had a single game in the top 20, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Creutz suggested that, based on past data, the top 20 games during Amazon's Black Friday will most likely overlap with the overall top-selling games during December. In particular, he noted that strong sales performances from Battlefield 3 and Madden suggest that EA is on track to exceed its current fiscal quarter guidance.
