Burnout series creator Criterion Games has announced Burnout Crash!, a downloadable spin-off title that focuses on the series' popular "Crash Mode." Creative director Richard Franke describes the new game as "a crazy mix of pinball and game shows." "We've evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and [proprietary social networking feature] Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform." The game will reward players for triggering destruction in the game's world, which is shown from an arcade-style overhead perspective. The game will launch in fall 2011 for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, the latter of which will have a game mode designed for Microsoft's motion-sensing Kinect peripheral.
