London-based Mediatonic announced today that it has hired game industry veteran Pete Hickman as its new head of production, where he will oversee all of the company's projects. Hickman's career spanes more than 20 years in the game industry, and includes production stints at SCi Games, Minscape and Virgin Interactive. Hickman most recently served in an executive producer role at Eidos, where he was credited on games including Reservoir Dogs and Soul Bubbles. "In my role as Head of Production, I’ll be helping to really cement our reputation as creators of world-class games for digital download on all current and future gaming platforms," Hickman said, in a statement. "Pete has a huge wealth of knowledge and wisdom about our business and we’re very excited to have him joining the team, where his expertise will be invaluable," Mediatonic comments director of games, Paul Croft said in a statement. Mediatonic, which recently named to Facebook's Preferred Consultant Program, specializes in commissioned games for the web, but also produces original titles for Xbox Live Indie Games and the PSP, including platformer Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess. The company is currently working on a Facebook game to accompany Telltale's adventure title based on The Walking Dead license.
