The Vancouver-based studio aims to "bridge the gap between blockbuster, cinematic experiences and interactive gaming."
Yet another new studio touting its industry credentials has surfaced in Vancouver. This one is called Blinkmoon Games, and it's helmed by a crew of first employees from the world of visual effects and game design.
The company's co-founders are Hugh Behroozy and Troy Dunniway. Behroozy's credits include films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Justice League. He'll serve as CEO of the company. Dunniway--a 25-year game executive with a background in game design at Ubisoft, EA, Microsoft, and more--will be general manager of gaming.
Blinkmooon's creative director and COO will be former VFX supervisor Mohsen Mousavi. Mousavi has supervised VFX for shows like Game of Thrones, Independence Day 2, and Jason Statham monster vehicle The Meg.
What kinds of games is Blinkmoon working on? It's a little tough to say. Its website states that the team is working on "genre-defining, industry-leading games that bring the entertainment and gaming worlds together."
The studio is also apparently aiming to "play with purpose." It touts partnerships with climate crisis-fighting nonprofits and NGOs on its website as well.
