Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
An Austin start-up called Digital Harmony Games, which was co-founded by former True Games (Faxion Online) staff, will accept funding from TapJoy's Android Developer fund for its first, unannouned title.
Tapjoy has announced the latest developer to participate in its $5 million Android Developer Fund: Austin start-up Digital Harmony Games. Digital Harmony was co-founded in June of this year by CEO Jeff Lujan and COO Keren Kang, formerly of Ingition-owned True Games Interactive. Both were part of the Faxion Online team, which saw significant layoffs in July. According to a statement from Digital Harmony, the studio will utilize Tapjoy's mobile advertising marketplace for its first, unannounced title. "We're thrilled to partner with Tapjoy, a proven leader in the mobile gaming space, to help expand our development platforms," said Kang in a statement. "Considering almost all the top-grossing mobile games utilize Tapjoy technology, we are in great company." Tapjoy launched its Android Fund back in June. The company has been on an executive hiring spree of late: in the last two months or so it has hired former PlayStation senior vice president Peter Dille as its new chief marketing officer, former Symbian VP Larry Perkin as its Asia-Pacific operations VP, and Veraz Networks exec Al Woods as CFO. The hires followed a $30 million funding round in July.
