A new class-action lawsuit has been filed by a former GameStop employee against the company, with the employee alleging that GameStop does not provide adequate meal breaks. According to documents viewed by Gamasutra and filed earlier this month, and as reported by GameSpot, the former employee states that GameStop requires all staff members take part in mandatory security checks during breaks, but are not compensated for this time. The complaint also alleges that GameStop failed to provide adequate compensation for employees who work shifts that exceed eight hours, nor does it provide accurately itemized wage statements. The employee is suing GameStop on behalf of all individuals who worked for the company in a retail capacity from June 21, 2010, onwards. As part of the complaint, the former employee is looking to receive an hour's worth of pay for every day in which adequate breaks were not provided.
