Unity Technologies announced today that Gazillion Entertainment president and COO David Brevik will present a keynote speech at the Unite developer conference next month. Titled "To Hell and Back Again: How the Video Game Industry Has Changed Since Diablo," Brevik's speech will discuss the pivotal changes he's seen in the industry since he worked as co-creator and lead programmer on Blizzard's seminal Diablo and Diablo II. "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on the past and future of the video game industry," Brevik said in a statement. "Unity Technologies shares Gazillion Entertainment's belief that high quality games should also be highly accessible, on any device, anywhere." Taking place September 28 through 30 at San Francisco's Masonic Center, the conference, first announced in May, will be the fifth annual gathering of developers and publishers using Unity's development environment. The event will feature over 30 informational sessions on topics from AI to lightmapping, as well as a serious games showcase, project postmortems, and the presentation of the Unity Awards, honoring the best content made with the development environment. Tickets can be purchased at the Unite Conference web site.
